Questions, a bug, a wrong reminder, a translation that reads oddly: one address for all of it. We answer ourselves, usually within a few days.

GeoStroll is being built and tested on real city walks. The first external test runs through TestFlight; write to us if you want to be on it. Pricing is decided before launch; the test is free.
Questions people ask
Does it drain my battery?
No. iOS watches the circles around your places and wakes the app only when you enter one. GeoStroll never keeps GPS running in the background. The one time it uses continuous location is while you look at the map yourself.
Does it work without a connection?
Your places, the circles and the reminders do. Opening hours need a connection, because they are asked from Google at the moment you arrive and never stored. Without one, the reminder says "Hours unknown — check first".
Why does the app ask Google?
Because Google has the hours, and its terms do not allow us to store them. So each time you reach a place, the app asks for that place's hours and drops the answer after one reminder. That check tells Google this phone is at that place, which is why you choose it yourself, once, and can turn it off any time.
I walked past a saved place and got nothing. Why?
Most likely it was closed: closed places never get a reminder. Other reasons: reminders are off for this trip, the place is muted or snoozed, the trip's dates have not started or already ended, you were outside its circle, or iOS has not granted location access.
Can I turn the Google check off?
Yes. Settings › Opening hours from Google › Without hours. Reminders keep coming, without hours: "You're near — tap for hours". Google's card shows the hours when you tap.
Where is my data?
On your phone, and in your own iPhone and iCloud backups. There is no GeoStroll server and no account. Delete the app and it is gone.
Is it iPhone only?
For now, yes: iPhone with iOS 18 or newer. An Android version is planned once the iPhone app has proven itself.
Can I import my Google Maps list?
Not yet. You can paste a Google Maps link to a single place, including one a friend sent you. Importing a whole saved list comes later.
